Partially tempered glass strong
By definition partially tempered glass does not belong to safety glass, but has essential characteristics for structural glass. The production of partially tempered glass is similar to the toughened glass process.
However, the cooling process takes place much more slowly. This results in lower tension differences in the glass, which affects the properties of partially tempered glass. In particular, the fracture behaviour shows differences. The fracture pattern is similar to float glass panes, and therefore partially tempered glass has an excellent residual load carrying capacity in a laminated glass unit.
